"Biskup ready to give his life for the Church" - lecture by Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski

During the speech, the words about the unbreakable moral attitude of both Archbishop Baraniak and the Primate of the Millennium sounded peculiarly strongly. "It was during this Roman gathering [abp Baraniak] that he emphasized that he was willing to give his life for the origin of the Church," said Archbishop Jędraszewski, referring besides to the steadfast attitude of Archbishop Baraniak, who was arrested on the night of 25-26 September 1953 (together with Primate Wyszynski) and was imprisoned in the notorious Warsaw Arrest of Investigation in Mokotów, where for 3 years he was subjected to an highly brutal investigation.
145 interrogations (even after a twelve hours), nail-breaking, holding in an icy, fecal cell are only any of the tortures that the UB torturers subjected him to.
Despite these terrible experiences, he did not break and burdened the primate. This was the attitude of a shepherd who was willing to give his life for the Church. Similarly, his heroic attitude was demonstrated during the imprisonment of the Komańcza card. Stefan Wyszynski, present blessed Catholic Church.
