Biological monitoring at work – how discipline looks us in blood and breath

A fewer decades ago, the assessment of workers' vulnerability to chemicals was almost exclusively based on air measurements at the workplace. Today, more and more frequently talk about biomonitoring – that is, biological investigation of workers' samples, which let to measure not only how many toxic compounds are floating in the air, but above all, how many actually went into the human body. This is simply a fundamental change of position – from looking at the environment to looking straight inside the employee's body.
