On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising, a Polish national flag is to be displayed in front of Berlin City Hall. This is the first time that white and red colors will start at the office of the authorities of the Brandenburg capital. In the city there will besides be commemorative installations. On 1 August, the Polish-German home initiated the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising before the Red Town Hall, the seat of the Land Berlin authorities.
– The Polish flag will be hanged for the first time in the past of the city on the occasion of 1 August in front of the town hall. Senator for Culture and Social Affairs Joe Chialo, Dr Andrea Riedle, manager of the panic Topography Foundation, and I, as a historian and typical of the Polish-German House, will speak. stressed Wierzcholska.
Anna Świrszczyńska's poems will be read in a fresh translation by Peter Oliver Loew. shortly there will be a volume of translations of Świrszczyńska works co-financed by the Polish-German House.
– At 5 p.m. before Red Town Hall we will hear a signal that will let us to connect to Warsaw. The Polish-German home has besides prepared a tiny travelling exhibition, which will be shown in different places of Berlin for 63 days – informed Wierzcholska.
The Polish-German House, together with the German Institute for Polish Affairs in Darmstadt, initiated task #63Tage (63days).
