How does Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) support building the resilience of the Polish economy? How is supporting the defence sector compatible with the concept of sustainable development? In an interview with our portal Prof. Marta Postula, the first vice president of BGK's board, explains how BGK as a improvement bank pursues the state's objectives through financing energy transformation, investment projects, cybersecurity and defence sector. It points out that economical and physical safety are closely linked – unchangeable energy supply, infrastructure resilience and hazard consequence are so crucial for the competitiveness of the economy. This besides means that defence backing can fit into the social dimension of sustainable improvement – a society without a sense of safety is not stable.
