The 40-millimeter CT weapon cannon, an active protection system, a 1000-horsepower engine, and aboard a three-man crew and 8 landing troops – at the global Defence manufacture Salon in Kielce, Korean company Hanwha Aerospace presented a model of a heavy-duty fresh generation K-NIFV car. The vehicle was proposed to the Polish army.


– K-NIFV (Korean fresh Infantry Fighting Vehicle) was based on the task Redback combat infantry car. His assumptions were further modified to meet the requirements of our army – explains Amy Park from the company Hanwha Aerospace. The vehicle has a mass of about 45 tons, which places it in the dense bewup range. His weaponry is based on a 40-millimeter CT weapon cannon which, however, can be utilized optionally with a 30-millimeter Mk-44 Bushmaster cannon. Among another things, the 7.62 mm device weapon and the TAipers PKP rocket launcher are added. “The fresh solution is an unmanned tower,” says Amy Park. “However, an active protection strategy that ensures a advanced level of safety for the crew can be considered the strongest side of this vehicle,” he adds. The principles of its operation are comparatively simple. The sensor assembly continuously scans the environment around the vehicle, and erstwhile it detects anti-tank missiles approaching it, it initiates the launch of a peculiar explosive charge. The 1 in the crew's safe distance neutralizes the threat.

The K-NIFV is 7.8 metres long, 3.6 metres wide and 3.6 metres advanced and a 1000 hp engine. – We besides equipped the truck with rubber caterpillars. Thanks to them, it is more stable, which translates into the comfort of a three-man crew," explains Amy Park. Apart from the crew, the vehicle can accommodate 8 landing troops.

The Koreans are counting on them The fresh bewup will be curious in Polish troops. “We presented specified a proposal last year and the vehicle offered by us received very advanced ratings,” says Amy Park. The Polish army is presently in the phase of exchanging combat infantry wagons. Part of the request to satisfy BWP Badger, produced by a consortium, the leader of which is Huta Stalowa Wola. In the field of combat, specified wagons are intended to support, among another things, K2 tanks.
