The Ministry of household and Social Policy introduced an innovative social program, aimed specifically at people with disabilities, in 2023. Information about this fresh benefit was made public in April of the same year by the then Minister of household and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg. From 2024 onwards, the persons afraid will be able to apply for this support.

A fresh support service, dedicated to people with disabilities, will become available to apply from 2024. In contrast to existing support forms, specified as care provision or welfare allowance, the fresh support will be straight targeted at people with disabilities.

Support benefits from 2024

The decision to supply support and its amount will be decided by peculiar provincial teams that will measure the request for the individual concerned. If the assessment of the request for support reaches a score above 70 points on a scale of 0 to 100, that individual will be eligible for financial support from the government.

The highest level of support that can be received will be 220% of the social pension and will be granted to those who scope 95 points or more in assessing the request for support. This is reserved for cases where the needs of the beneficiary are peculiarly significant.

Persons with a score of 90 to 94 can number on support of 180% of the social pension. In the case of an evaluation of 85 to 89 points, support of 120% of the social pension is provided.

For those with 80 to 84 points, support of 80% of the social pension is provided. Persons with between 75 and 79 points are eligible for support of 60% of the social pension.

You'll get the benefit even if you collect the pension

The social pension, set at PLN 1588.44 gross per period in 2023, is subject to a process of valorisation aimed at adapting to the impact of inflation and maintaining its real value. This process aims to guarantee that the performance responds adequately to changing economical conditions.

Forecasts for 2024 propose that the social benefit will besides be raised, which is to defend beneficiaries from a possible decline in purchasing power of their benefits. This is important, especially in the context of a changing product and service mix and general price dynamics.

The crucial information is besides that the collection of a social pension does not adversely affect the anticipation of receiving another forms of support, specified as support provision. As of January 2024, rightholders will be able to collect both benefits simultaneously, which may increase the availability of funds for those in request of support.
