The Polish tv Programme Council in liquidation selected its bureau during its inaugural meeting. The president was Barbara Bilinska, a longtime public broadcaster journalist. The Vice-Presidents were Wanda Nadobnik from the Association of Polish Journalists and Robert Walenciak from the weekly Review. The election was made in a secret ballot.
As stated on the website of the Polish tv Information Centre, the selection of the bureau was made in a secret vote during the inaugural gathering of the Programme Council of TVP S.A. in liquidation. The president was Barbara Bilinska, who for years co-founded the program "Pegas".
Bilinska has extended experience in the media industry. For six years she was the manager of programming at TVP2, and spent another six years in the structures of an global broadcaster under the supervision of Catherine Kiela - the current head of Warner Bros Discovery.
Experience in the production company
She besides gained her professional experience at renowned production company Jake imagination - creators of specified formats as "Millionaires", "Dancing with Stars" or "The Office". This experience in various media structures gave her a broad position on the tv industry.
Wanda Nadobnik, Vice-President of the Programme Council, was elected. Twice in the 1990s she headed the Editorial of global Publications at the tv Information Agency and the TVP Program 1.
Career in global media
She besides served as coordinator for abroad correspondents at TAI and TVP News Exchange coordinator with Eurovision EBU. She was the head of Publications at TVP Polonia and author of weekly cyclical programs, including "7 days - the world", "State ration" and "A commentator".
She is besides the author of documentary films, including the primacy of Stefan Wyszynski and Stanisław Mikołajczyk. Her experience includes both editorial work and the production of documentary programs.
Second Vice-President of the Review
The Vice-President of the Programme Council was besides Robert Walenciak, vice-president of the weekly "Review". He was the author of TVP Info and TVP past of the series "Behind the scenes of the Polish People's Republic" and "Mysteries of the 3rd Republic".
Walenciak held morning talks on Polish Radio 24 and is simply a regular commentator on tv and radio programs. He is the author of respective books, including "Popular Poland", "Modzelewski. Rebel" and "Gambit Jaruzelski", and was nominated twice for the Grand Press award.
Competences of the Programme Board
The Programme Board of TVP S.A. in liquidation is the opinion and advisory body of the company. Its competence is to present resolutions and statements on the programming activities of the Polish tv and to deal with issues raised by the Management Board and the Supervisory Board.
The Council may besides adopt resolutions assessing the level and quality of the current programme and framework programmes. The Board shall consist of 15 members appointed by the National Media Council. In accordance with the Council's Rules of Procedure, 10 of its members represent parliamentary groups and the another 5 members are appointed from among those who have a track evidence and experience in the sphere of culture and media.
