Almost a 1000 children died in Bangladesh due to the measles epidemic that broke out in March, reported the AFP agency on Saturday, citing the latest data from the Bangladeshi Ministry of Health.
In a country with 170 million inhabitants, 986 children with measles have lost their lives, with more than 180,000 infections. A 1000 fresh cases are detected all day.
Doctors regret that many parents decide to visit a doctor only erstwhile their kid is already in a hard condition and frequently fails to save him. They besides stress that many patients endure from malnutrition, which makes them worse," AFP said.
