Bangladesh – autocratic ruler escapes, Nobel laureate becomes Prime Minister

After the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled the country, president Mohammed Shahabadin decided to appoint an interim government. It is headed by Muhammad Yunus, 84-year-old Nobel Peace laureate for pioneering microfinance solutions that allowed millions of Bangladeshi residents to be drawn out of poverty. The fresh cabinet consists of generals commanding the land, sea and air forces of the country, as well as representatives of muslim and nationalist parties that have been marginalized so far.
