A balloon or a drone? What did the Chinese actually send over the United States?

According to most press agencies, the Americans shot down over the United States "spy balloon". The problem is that this aircraft during flight could change the way and "stop" (or actually slow down) over circumstantial objects. And that's not how typical balloons behave, but drones.
