Bachmut is down

After 224 days of dense fighting, Russian forces captured the industrial city of Donbasu Bachmut.

Bachmut, in 1989 with a population of 90 000, on the eve of the war 73,000 (such as Inowroclaw) became the arena of the largest and longest conflict of Russian and Ukrainian troops during the ongoing war.

The city was acquired by Russian hired forces from the CZWK Wagner (CZ – frequent – private, W waryna – military, K company – company). The clash took place in the city and adjacent areas, involving large numbers of troops from both sides.

The Ukrainian side, a common habit, denies the capture of the city. As usual, the 72nd Centre for intellectual Information conflict is waiting for any peremoga (ukr. victory) that “covers” the failure of the city. Losses of both fighting parties are hard to estimation accurately, but they surely go into tens of thousands killed and injured. It is impossible present to accurately state their height.

Ukrainian Command claims to have active Russians in dense urban struggles, bled out and thus prevented them from further offensive action both on Donbasa and in another operational directions. There was a time erstwhile Russian forces were under Bachmut and the Ukrainian army was building reserves equipped with equipment from NATO countries for the large spring-summer counteroffensive.

The Russian side, for a change, claims to have deliberately chosen a favorable configuration of the front line, and due to the supply lines of the episode where the Ukraine Armed Forces were forced to conflict material in which many military units were destroyed by inflicting dense losses on people and equipment, thereby reducing its combat capabilities.

Anyway, Russian forces in peculiar CZWK Wagner is celebrating a large military triumph in the war in Ukraine today. Whether this is the turning point of war or "Russian Pyrrus victory" is hard to find today.
