Before the Legnica territory Court, a loud trial of bailiff Rafał O., accused of overriding and misappropriating money, ended. The sentences were besides heard by Asessor Renata P. and the bookkeeper Catherine S. As the National Prosecutor's Office stated in July 2022, 64 people were injured as a consequence of criminal activity, and the full amount of the appropriation exceeded PLN 1.8 million.
The bailiff paid his own credits with client money
Investigators have determined that Rafał O., acting as a bailiff at the Legnica territory Court in years 2009-2019, has taken over funds from the payments of debtors and creditors. From the accounts of the bailiff collected about PLN 1 millionwhich it has committed to repaying private bank liabilities. In addition, he downloaded inflated remuneration (by over PLN 26 thousand), and during suspension in service activities illegally withdrew over PLN 133 1000 of cash from the register.
Counterfeiting papers and illegal charging
In execution proceedings, the bailiff acquired an additional PLN 500 thousandBy manipulating the accounting system. Judgment of the Court: 2.5 years in prison and advanced fines

- Rafal O. was sentenced to 2.5 years imprisonment and 70 1000 PLN fine.
- Asessor Renata P. She heard the verdict 1.5 years in prison.
- Accountant Catherine S. received punishment 1 year suspended for 3 years.
Both women were besides obliged to pay fines of PLN tens of thousands.
Judgment is not valid yet – the parties have the right to appeal.
