Today, students conflict with the maturity exam. This is an crucial step towards adult life, although, of course, neither the fiveth degree guarantees anything, nor the problems during the exam are the end of the world.

In the meantime, let us take a small closer look at the character of Baron Karl Abraham von Zedlitz (1731-1793), who is recognized as the creator of the concept of the maturity exam.

He was born in the household of the politician Karl Sigismund von Zedlitz at the end of the reign of Frederick Wilhelm I, the celebrated king-soldier.
