Motyka's publications indicates that it is not scientifically prepared for investigation work on the past of Polish-Ukrainian relations; for him, the top authority in these matters is Lew Szkowsky, who organized attacks on Polish troops in September 1939, retreating towards Romania and participating in them, who was a high-ranking activist of the OUN Bandery (and UPA) in Volyn and the alleged Zacurzoń, took part in fights against Poland, and after the war settled in the United States as a Ukrainian, nationalist historian.
