A Ukrainian citizen suspected of attacking a female with a knife in Wrocław was detained immediately after the event. Przemysław Czarnek accused the government of blocking a task facilitating the deportation of law-breaking foreigners, and the spokesperson for the Ministry of abroad Affairs responded, pointing to the fast consequence of the police. However, the safety of Poles requires both efficient operation of the services and clear rules of residence of foreigners.

Suspect detained after event

There was a knife attack on a female in Wrocław. According to Gazeta.pl, a suspected citizen of Ukraine was detained immediately after the event. A spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior and Administration Karolina Gałecka provided information on the detention.

At this stage, we request to keep things precise. The man's guilt will be decided by the court, not by politicians or the media. His citizenship is crucial in the dispute over residence and deportation regulations, but cannot be the basis for the work of the full Ukrainian community. The state is to prosecute a circumstantial perpetrator and defend a circumstantial victim.

Czarnek points to the bill

The Vice president of Law and Justice Przemysław Czarnek connected the Wrocław event with the debate on his bill. He wrote that Donald Tusk and Vladimir Czarzasty keep the task in the seismic freezer. According to the policy, its enactment would effectively deport those who do not comply with the law.

Czarnek presented the task in mid-April. The fact that it is submitted does not yet find whether all the proposed solutions are consistent with the constitution, global commitments and the rule of proportionality. However, the rulers have a work to debate him openly. Putting aside hard laws without a substantive answer is convenient for power, but does not build citizens' confidence.

Fast police don't close the debate

Gałecka replied to Czarnk with the words: “Are you kidding me?” and then stressed that the fishy was detained immediately. This is an crucial fact and officers should be credited for effective intervention. However, the spokeswoman answered the question about the police response, while Czarnek posed a problem of further legal consequences for a foreigner convicted of violation of the law.

Stopping, trial, punishment and possible deportation are separate stages. They're not to be mixed. Deportation cannot replace criminal liability for a serious crime, as this would mean moving the problem beyond the borders of Poland alternatively of bringing justice. However, erstwhile the punishment has been served, the State should have effective instruments to measure whether the continued residence of the convicted foreigner threatens public security.

The State has a work to defend citizens

The dispute should not end with an exchange of astrings on social media. Poles have the right to know what rules apply to foreigners convicted of crimes, how long the procedure takes and who is liable for its execution. Judicial control, respect for human rights and precedence of the safety of Polish residents is needed.

The nationality of a fishy is not a conviction on a nation. Similarly, origin cannot be a shield from responsibility. A mature state can keep both these principles at erstwhile and does not replace political law with a spectacle.
