The programme of the European fresh generation MGCS tank, which was to be a flywheel for the European arms industry, was in a large turn. alternatively of implementing a large, costly and long-term improvement project, decisions can be made on the acquisition of tanks combining Leopard 2 chassis components with fresh weapons technologies developed by Germany and France. Interestingly, critical voices towards MGCS can be heard from both participants.
