"This is simply a fundamental accomplishment in the relations between Armenia and the United States. We are creating a strategical partnership committee that offers a number of opportunities to grow our cooperation in many areas - the economy, defence, security, democracy" - said Antony Blinken, quoted by Interfax. The Secretary of State added that "cooperation between the economies of both countries has been recorded in the energy field, negotiations are presently underway for peaceful atomic safety and atomic energy". In addition, he stressed that the US would strengthen security, defence and the sovereignty of Armenia.
