The planet loses and loses in confrontation with the power that Christ gives and with the wisdom that Christ bestows on all those who trust him – Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski reminded during the pilgrimage of young people to Kalwaria Zebrzydowska.

At the beginning of his homily, the Kraków metropolitan pointed to the political and spiritual situation of Rome in the first century. He pointed out that Christianity with religion in the Triune God and the crucified and resurrected Jesus Christ was a sign of opposition to God’s worship, which the emperors demanded for themselves. As he stressed, Christian religion active appropriate anthropology. In this context, the hierarch pointed out: the fact about the man created in the image and likeness of God, which gives him peculiar dignity; the salvation and redemption of man by Jesus Christ, which was a model to imitate the love of agape—uninterested and selfless; the hope of eternal life.

Referring to the passage in the liturgy of the First Letter to the Corinthians, the Kraków Metropolitan pointed out that St. Paul realized that, from a sociological perspective, Christians were "a small bit in the pagan component of the day," but God's logic is in clear contradiction with the logic of the planet – "God chose precisely what was foolish in the eyes of the world, to shame the wise men, he chose what was powerless to humiliate the strong" (1 Cor 1:27). The apostle of the nations besides pointed to the peculiar position of Christians resulting from the "rooting in Christ" through baptism and the greatness of Christians flowing from the "glory of Christ."

A Christian, even if he's sociologically a part of the world, has a sense that he's someone. The planet would like to overwhelm him with various polls, sociological posts, but that's not important. It matters who you are in Jesus Christ. If you have a sense of who you are in Christ, there is no reason to feel any inferiority complex. On the contrary, it is the planet that loses and loses in confrontation with the power that Christ gives and with the wisdom that Christ bestows on all those who trust him. "The Archbishop spoke of this in the context of the "surprising of the modern world" over Christians and pointed out, for example, ridicule from the Last Supper during the inauguration of the Olympics.

The Metropolitan besides pointed out the symbol of Dionysus' appearance during the beginning ceremony of the games. In Greek or Roman mythology, it was a god of guilt, drunkenness, sexual promiscuity. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries Frederick Nietzsche in his book “Ecce Homo” opposed Dionysus and his way of utilizing the life of crucified Christ and his Gospel full of mercy, leaning over mediocre and weak people. – In this phase of the inauguration of the Olympics was this message--the Christian planet is ending; the Christian morality contained in the Gospel, expressed in the Crucified Christ, should end; there should be times of drinking life, not looking into the transientity of life, but at the present moment, in which we must find maximum pleasance and minimum suffering. This is the meaning of the life of the man proposed today – said Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski, stressing that in spite of the slogans, ideologies, temptations of this planet Christ crucified for almost 2 1000 years has attracted fresh people. It draws with its love, an image of noble and beautiful humanity, which "does not end his life here with death, but bows out his hope for resurrection and life in eternal happiness."

In spite of this anti-evangelism, we return to our sources constantly rediscovering the dignity of God's child – said the archbishop, pointing out that against modern ideologies gender and LGBT movements Christians discover their dignity in “beautiful love” which in Christian morality is called “the purity of the heart”. – Purity of heart. The purity of our love for God and for another man, as the Lord Jesus taught us, this is our wisdom, this is our power He emphasized that Christians are called to “beautiful life—to live in eternity”. In this context, he recalled the baptism rite in which parents asked, “What do you ask the Church of God for your child?” they answer, “for faith,” and the question “and what does religion give you?” answers: “Eternal life.”

Finally, the Archbishop recalled that the year 2025 in the Church would be celebrated as a holy year and its symbol would be the cross in each cathedral. – Crucified Christ, not Dionysus, as Nietzsche wanted, and as this was repeated by the beginning ceremony of the games; crucified Christ, who draws all to himself--the full world, and who is the power and wisdom of God given us to have life, that we may live in Jesus Christ our Lord – finished.
