The president stressed in Friday morning's entry on platform X that "we have an highly crucial decision ahead of us - elections of the president of the Republic of Poland".

"When choosing the president, we don't just point to the head of state - we find the direction in which Poland will follow. We choose a guardian of the sovereignty and safety of the state who should act and talk clearly and decisively: Poland has its goals, its dignity and ambitions rooted in over a 1000 years of history" - emphasised Andrzej Duda.

He pointed out that elections are the foundation of democracy, which is simply a warrant of the rights of all citizens. "Therefore as president I appeal - Let's go to the election! Let us encourage our loved ones to do so! The voice of each of us is equally important - regardless of the views or the place of residence" - he stated.

The president added that the higher the turnout, the stronger the democratic mandate of the fresh president and the greater the power of the Republic. "Take part in the election" - appealed to the president.

The first circular of presidential elections will be held Sunday 18 May, the vote will run from 7:00 to 9:00.

13 candidates will compete: Artur Bartoszewicz (economicist), Magdalena Biejat (New Left candidate), Grzegorz Braun (Euro MP), Simon Holovnia (marhal of the Sejm, candidate of the 3rd Way), Marek Jakubiak (Member of the Free Republicans), Maciej Maciak (leader of the Freedom and Peace Movement), Sławomir Mentzen (Confederal candidate), Karol Nawrocki (IPN president, candidate supported by PiS), Joanna Senyszyn (former SLD MP, economist), Krzysztof Stanowski (journalist), Rafał Trzaskowski (President of Warsaw and candidate KO), Marek Woch (candidate of Unpartisan Local Government) and Adrian Zandberg (Member, organization candidate Together).
