An End to 118 Years of Division: Gibraltar and Spain Are Removing Their Border

Starting July 15, Gibraltar and Spain are set to begin a fresh phase in their bilateral relations. Under the agreement negotiated between the European Union and the United Kingdom, border controls on the land border—which has separated the British overseas territory from Spain since 1908—will be lifted.
