On Thursday there will be a gathering of alleged coalitions of volunteers – a group of dozens of countries supporting Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression. The host will be French president Emmanuel Macron. Donald Tusk, who will besides take part in the talks, took the floor.


Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced his participation in the gathering of the alleged coalition of willing. “These are the 32 countries that are contacting each another about Ukraine and helping her in the war with Russia”, said the head of government.

Reuters had previously informed that France had called a gathering for Thursday to discuss further safety support for Ukraine after possible peace with Russia. The talks to be held in the hybrid expression will be attended by leaders and Heads of State Government belonging to the alleged willing coalition, initiated by France and Britain in February of this year.

The main nonsubjective of the talks is to review the actions to date related to the improvement of safety guarantees for Ukraine and to discuss the current political and military situation. Tusk did not indicate in what form he would participate in the talks and whether he would appear in Paris on Thursday.

"After the gathering of Europeans and Americans in Washington, D.C. on 18 August, Heads of State and Government will discuss the ongoing work on safety guarantees for Ukraine and will review the consequences of Russia's persistent refusal to enter into peace," said the Elysée Palace on Monday's release.

Reuters emphasizes that Thursday's gathering is besides scheduled to send a signal to Washington. Diplomats emphasize that since the Trump-Putin gathering in August, no advancement has been made towards direct talks between Putin and the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski.

Zelenski is due to visit Paris on Thursday, although most leaders will participate in distant talks. It is not known whether US representatives will be present, although according to diplomatic sources, the Trump administration will at least be informed of the result of the talks.

Zelenski thanked Macro for his "unwavering support", writing on platform X that it was essential to respond to "the drag of war by Russia".
