On Thursday there will be a gathering of alleged coalitions of volunteers – a group of dozens of countries supporting Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression. The host will be French president Emmanuel Macron. Donald Tusk, who will besides take part in the talks, took the floor.

Reuters emphasizes that Thursday's gathering is besides scheduled to send a signal to Washington. Diplomats emphasize that since the Trump-Putin gathering in August, no advancement has been made towards direct talks between Putin and the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski.

Zelenski is due to visit Paris on Thursday, although most leaders will participate in distant talks. It is not known whether US representatives will be present, although according to diplomatic sources, the Trump administration will at least be informed of the result of the talks.

Zelenski thanked Macro for his "unwavering support", writing on platform X that it was essential to respond to "the drag of war by Russia".
