Pension benefits paid by the Social Insurance Institution all year are valued. In accordance with applicable regulations, this is always done on 1 March. Valorisation is based on the average yearly index of consumer goods and services for pensioners' households (in 2024 it was 103.6%) and the real increase in average wages (in 2024 it reached 9.5%). As a result, benefits were now increased by 5.5%.

Nawrocki's election plan. That would be the value of pensions.
Until now, there was no guaranteed minimum increase. Soon, however, this may change. This is the thought of President-elect Karol Nawrocki. After taking office, he plans to submit a bill, according to which as part of the valorization of pensions benefits will always increase by at least 150 PLN. He says he'll do it on the first day of the presidency.
The website infor.pl decided to calculate what this would look like in practice. He informed that "if the promise had been translated into a reality of the valorisation of pensions, which took place in March of this year, this would mean that the amount of the lowest pension, pensions due to full incapacity for work, social and household pensions would have increased not to PLN 1878.91, but to PLN 1930.96". The Nawrocki Plan besides assumes that the valorisation rate will always be higher than the inflation rate.

Valorisation of pensions 2026. That's how much seniors would get after changing the rules.
So what would it look like to be valorized in 2026 if president Elek's thought came into force? The Service explained that the presently forecasted amount of the lowest pension, pensions due to full incapacity for work, social and household pensions would increase not to PLN 1970.98, only PLN 2028.91. Then the increase (in relation to the current amount of the benefit) would not be PLN 92.07, but guaranteed PLN 150. This is not Nawrocki's only proposal in terms of finance. He besides announced the introduction of PIT-0 for parents from the second child, a VAT simplification from 23 to 22 percent and a 33 percent simplification in electricity bills. "Charles Nawrocki's promises are more costly than Rafał Trzaskowski. However, for them to be introduced, the consent of the government and parliament is needed. However, it is improbable that the government will decide to implement reforms that will seriously undermine public finances. Especially since the deficit for this reason would exceed the statutory limits, then constitutional work will fall on the government, not on the president," said economist Marek Zuber in a conversation with fact.pl.
