American balloons take the Baltic

In May 2026, the U.S. Army conducted a series of stratosphere microbalons tests over the Baltic Sea region. The operation was organized by soldiers of the U.S. Multidomain Command in Europe in cooperation with NATO countries and the Swedish and Latvian authorities. Exercises were part of larger military maneuvers Sword 26 and Swedish Aurora 26 exercise.
