FORT Worth- American Airlines (AA) announced on Friday that delays in Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner deliveryries are promoting the airline to reduce certificate long-haul flights in the later part of the year and extending into early 2025. This adjustment reflects the latest change in agenda due to the production challenges faced by the aircraft manufacturer.

As per a filling made on Thursday, American anticipates receiving only 3 Dreamliners this year, down from the previously expected six. Boeing disclosed earlier this week that shortages in parts would hide the escape of production for these wide-body aircraft.

  • The year-round flights from fresh York to Barcelona will besides be suspended on September 3 but will resume next year.
  • Routes from Dallas/Fort Worth global to Dublin and Rome, formerly scheduled as year-round flights, will now be suspended on October 26 and resume next year.
  • Flights from Chicago O’Hare to Paris will include on September 3 and resume next year.

Additional, American will reduce its service between fresh York and Rome from 2 regular to a single regular flight starting August 5. Furthermore, service between Dallas/Fort Worth global Airport and Kona, Hawaii, will not operate this winter.

No Cuts, Only Reductions

Despite these adjustments, American restored customers that it will keep 55 long-haul global routes this winter.

It besides announced plans to introduce regular nonstop service between Philadelphia and Barcelona starting in January, along with seasonal service between Miami and Montevideo, Uruguay. Moreover, it will increase the frequency of flights between Miami and Sao Paulo to 3 times daily.

American has not provided an updated timeline for introducing its fresh onboard products. Initially, the plan was to debut these seats on the 787-9P and simultaneously retrofit the existing Boeing 777-300ERs with the fresh products. (As part of the retrofit process, American is retiring the Flagship First and recovering it with a fresh four-seat business-class-plus Flagship Suite Preferred section.)
