Frenchman Alexis Guérin won the 87th Volta and Portugal on 16 August in Porto, finishing the race with a lead of 1 minute and 2 seconds over Art Nych. The final phase from Maia to Porto won Rui Oliveira. Triumph had a dense shadow: during the eighth phase 19-year-old Finlay Tarling was killed.
Guérin best after 11 days of prosecution
Alexis Guérin of the Anicolor-Campicarn squad was the winner of the 87th Volta a Portugal edition.
