MONTRÉAL– Air Canada (AC), the country’s largest airline and flag carrier, has introduced a new upgrade for Economy Class customers that includes complimentary beer, wine, and Canadian-made snacks across all flights.

The change, effective from September 1, 2025, applies system-wide, covering domestic services, transborder routes, and flights to leisure destinations such as Mexico and the Caribbean.

Air Canada Economy Passengers’ Free Snacks

Air Canada says that offering complimentary beer and wine for all passengers in economy class and making it a standard feature across its network reflects its commitment to enhancing the Economy experience while also highlighting Canadian products onboard.

This move positions Air Canada as the only North American airline to serve a complimentary non-alcoholic beer option in-flight, while also expanding its snack lineup with well-known national brands.

Travelers flying to sun destinations such as Cancun (CUN) or Montego Bay (MBJ) will enjoy the same complimentary beverages as those flying domestically within Canada.

Alongside alcoholic beverages, Air Canada has introduced Heineken 0.0 as a complimentary non-alcoholic beer.

The initiative strengthens the airline’s focus on inclusivity and customer satisfaction, ensuring a drink choice is available for every type of traveler.

New Snacks on Board

The new menu introduces a variety of Canadian snacks. Morning flights now feature MadeGood Mornings Cinnamon Bun Soft Baked Oat Bars, joining existing favorites like TWIGZ Craft Pretzels and Leclerc’s Celebration Cookies.

On flights after 10:30 a.m. from Toronto Billy Bishop (YTZ), passengers are served Greenhouse Ginger Defence Wellness Shots, adding a fresh and health-conscious option to the snack lineup.

These wellness shots complement Air Canada’s Bistro offerings, which continue to expand with Canadian-made products including hummus, oatmeal cups, and Smarties.

The Air Canada Bistro menu has been refreshed with more Canadian items, such as Summer Fresh Hummus & Crackers and TWIGZ Sour Cream & Onion Pretzels. These upgrades reflect the airline’s strategy to showcase national brands while offering broader choices to travelers.

The Bistro complements complimentary snacks with premium items for purchase, giving passengers flexibility whether they want light bites or more substantial options.

This approach blends free inclusions with paid upgrades, balancing customer expectations and product variety.

This food and beverage upgrade is part of Air Canada’s broader effort to refine its customer experience.

The airline has also enhanced its mobile app, expanded inflight entertainment, improved lounges, and introduced free, fast Wi-Fi for Aeroplan members on flights across North America and leisure routes.

By adding complimentary drinks and signature Canadian snacks, Air Canada is aiming to strengthen loyalty while distinguishing itself from other North American carriers.
