‘Blocking and obstructing journalists' access to information, especially during the election campaign, is unacceptable and is completely incompatible with the rule of freedom of speech guaranteed in the Constitution of the Republic of Poland" - we read the message of the Press Monitoring Centre of the Association of Polish Journalists. The protest concerns the scandalous treatment of the reporter and tv operator in Poland24.pl during run meetings with Rafał Trzaskowski.
The protest concerns the failure of reporter Piotr Czyżewski to let an open gathering of the PO candidate for the president of Poland Rafał Trzaskowski, which took place at the Polish Theatre in Szczecin, and the scandalous and brutal treatment of the camera operator in Poland24.pl during the meetings of Trzaskowski in Podlaski.
The accreditation gathering has not been issued or any information has been previously provided that they will be subject to any restrictions. On the contrary, during a akin meeting, which took place a fewer hours earlier in Stargard Szczeciński, a writer was informed that he could not enter the meeting, "because it is simply a gathering with activists", and an open gathering for everyone, and so for the media will be held in Szczecin. However, not only that ed. Piotr Czyżewski was not allowed into the theatre, but additionally, erstwhile he recorded this situation with a camera, it was reported to the police that he "disturbed a private meeting" and so police officers identified a journalist. However, he could not attend the gathering of candidate Trzaskowski with voters and clearly could not do his job

Earlier on 17 January 2025, there was another shocking situation in Podlasie, where during a gathering with Puńska residents and Augustowa's camera operator in Poland24 met with brutal treatment by bodyguards Rafał Trzaskowski – in Augustów her camera was pulled, making her work difficult, and in Punsk a female was surrounded by respective grown men who covered the lens of this camera with their hands preventing the operator from working. Surrounding the candidate for president did not respond to these incidents, nor did anyone apologize for this behaviour in the following days.
The protest recalled that "blocking journalists' access to information is unacceptable and illegal".
The SDP considers these events as a violation of the rule of freedom of speech and freedom of the democratic media of the state and reiterates its call on the authorities to guarantee equal access to information for all media, especially in the ongoing election run before the presidential elections. We stress that blocking journalists' access to information is unacceptable and illegal. CMWP SDP besides calls on all journalists to search equal treatment of all representatives of mass media in specified crucial democratic presidential elections
