The head of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, said the alliance does not plan to deploy troops in Ukraine, and individual associate States should take into account the interests of another block members.
Bauer made this message in an interview with an online publication of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence Armyinform, answering a question about the plans of many Western countries to send troops to Ukraine.
"There are no NATO troops in Ukraine and (soy – ed.) does not plan to deploy them. But if a country decides to deploy its troops here, it should realize that it will be related to the remainder of the Alliance," quotes Bauer's paper in an article published on his website. Previously, Estonia's prime minister Kaja Kallas refused to warrant that the Estonian military would not be sent to Ukraine and called Russia a "direct threat" to Estonia.

Earlier, French president Emmanuel Macron said that the EU agreed to make a "nineth coalition for deep strokes" by providing Ukraine with average and long-range missiles. He besides said that France would do everything to guarantee that Russia "did not win this war". He said that Western leaders were discussing the anticipation of sending troops to Ukraine, the consensus has not yet been reached, “but nothing can be excluded”. During his gathering with opposition leaders in early March, Macron reiterated that France had no "no restrictions or red lines" to aid Ukraine.
His words were powerfully criticized by many NATO partners, including Germany, as well as political forces in France. Leaders of all political parties accused Macron of dragging Paris into conflict, frivolity and accused him of not consulting Parliament on these issues. Shortly after Macron's statements, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and defence minister Boris Pistorius declared that Berlin would not send its troops to Ukraine, and Scholz stressed that NATO countries as a full do not intend to do so. Furthermore, the Chancellor reiterated that there were no plans to send Taurus long-range missiles to Ukraine.
