“I effort to think about the full achievements and life of John Paul II. And if he assumes that he has erred in this matter, it cannot invalidate all his accomplishments. I owe him besides much and I think he owes Poland besides much to bring his pontificate to this 1 thread. Although at the same time I consider that he is the head of the Church, part of the work for these terrible mistakes and hideous events," said Adam Michnik, but in the full conversation he defended JPII and the full KK explaining rapes and mating "asymmetry of times"

I heard it wasn't a problem erstwhile due to the fact that people didn't talk about it so much. In principle, this is unacceptable – pedophilia has been and is being prosecuted and punished, and no confession or absolution by them is known or likewise guilty, "right to error" or "human weakness" will change it, and even more so, the fact that it was effectively hidden from the public, which in itself was and is simply a violation of the law, that is, the social contract that is allowed and not allowed. This argument cannot be accepted.

I realize and recognise the importance of John Paul II for Poland, for our way to freedom, for building a winning community, Solidarity with a capital and lowercase. But on the occasion of JPII he built the meaning and power of today's lying and harmful to freedom and thus our future hierarchical church in Poland. Adam Michnik says nothing about this.

Pedophilia and sexual abuse are not the only "bad face" of this institution, though peculiarly disgusting, where, as in the lens, its dangerous qualities focus: the sense of power over people and frequently the ruthless abuse of this power, especially over the weaker ones, including children and little educated people, manipulating their emotions and feelings, ecstatic impunity, pride, lying, and utmost hypocrisy. utilizing your sacred position for your own, strictly protected, group and individual benefit; power, money and hidden desires.

I repeat: I realize and admit the meaning and function played by John Paul II on our way to freedom. I was a witness and a associate in this story. Without his actions and attitude, past would have been different. But if we want to learn from history, we should besides realize that the legacy of JPII (called "traditionalist" by Michnik) has built in modern Poland the position of a hierarchical church as it is and is now in an inextricable alliance with nationalist, anti-democratic, close authoritarian power, making it primarily a real threat to our freedoms and presence in the European Union. Adam Michnik mentions this in the margin and the thing is just as crucial as our conflict with real socialism and the power of monoparties in the 1970s and 1980s. They say the church continues and does not change or changes very slowly, but as you can see with the function it plays, it is already different.

Adam Michnik says that times have changed and tries to explain John Paul, the church and himself. Times have changed, that's true, that's what happens always, but most of all, it's the mature people, and in part they're smarter and better. We lacked discretion to foretell what was easy to foretell and lacked civilian courage to shout loudly and compose about what we decided not to see, though it was and was happening before our eyes. It is simply a pity that Adam does not talk about it but focuses on criticizing those who cannot remember the 1980s.

* Oh, my God *
