Contrary to appearances, this will not be a tale discourse, but a military codename. War has been given names since ancient times, in the case of military exercises this customized has spread throughout the 20th century. Of Polish – the most celebrated are code names, which active operations and actions of the Home Army, e.g. the celebrated “Burza” or “Wieniec”. Names attributed to military activities outside the useful meaning for soldiers carry an additional propaganda and intellectual message that has gained importance in fresh years.
The cryptonyms of military exercises are an integral part of their training assumptions. First of all, they supply an efficient recognition of the project. Individual states and military alliances have developed their own code names. The cryptonym of the exercises organized by the Polish Army should consist of 1 word and take into account the strategy of names adopted in each command and the specificity of types of exercises. The meaning of the codename may be characterized by the problem (e.g. march, link, help, etc.). The name of the army is recorded in verse and after the hyphen adds a number determining the year of the undertaking. The code names are defined by staff (they cannot usage abbreviations and designations assigned to NATO command). However, details and instructions concerning the staff's "brainstorm" are classified.

Anaconda in barracks and on ground
It is known that in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland circumstantial code names have been assigned to individual commanders and to peculiar types of exercises. And so, 1 of the exercises with troops leading the Operations Command of the Armed Forces Types (DORSZ) is codenamed ‘Anakonda’, e.g. ‘Anakonda-23’. It happens that a noisy name will happen among soldiers of its alternate version. This time, too. A twelve years ago, soldiers, as part of the legendary "military ridicule", gave the "Anaconda" their unofficial name – "faller".
The exercises conducted by the General Command of the Armed Forces are attributed to the codename “Dragon”. The Black Division, or 11th Armour Cavalry Division, gives its exercises the codename ‘Borsuk’ or ‘Beaver’. 12th Mechanized Division – “Rys” and 16th Mechanized Division – “Tumak” or “Dzik” for example. In fresh years, the military has created two-word cryptonyms (especially erstwhile NATO units are active in the organization of exercises, whose rules establish two-word cryptonyms). Then the basic word is defined by any adjective referring to the characteristics of soldiers or the nature of combat activities. This year, “Wild” of the 16th Division was “Share” and in 11 DKPanc was “Wild Beaver”.
The Air Operations Centre – Air Component Command under the DORSZ conducting exercises with troops is codenamed “The Eagle” which this year was “Fearless” and was active in maneuvers under the codename “The Iron Defender-25”. This name in turn refers to the main nonsubjective of the training project, namely to test the defence of the east flank. As part of the “Iron Defender”, exercises with the 18th Mechanized Division “Iron Gate-25” and exercises with territorial defence troops “Fire Storm-25” were held. These code names may propose that the Polish army is slow leaving ascetic, one-word code names.
Elegant, Elegant, this is the Repellent, can you hear me? Over!
Sometimes code names give emergence to comic situations. Especially erstwhile this task takes on "lower levels" of decision-making, which are easier to gain freedom of approach to the subject. In the 1990s, the head of communication of 1 of the divisions in the north of Poland developed a table of code names for subordinate regiments, in which he assigned 1 of the very assured commanders of the regiment with the code name “Repulsor”. On the another hand, the commander of the self-propelled artillery squadron in this regiment – the code name “Elegant” (Dariusz Iwiński – then to the rank of captain – actually wore a carefully maintained mustache). 1 can only imagine the smiles on the officers' faces as they listened to the radio correspondence exchange during tactical exercises or fire control training.

"N" as NATO
The names of maneuvers organised by the Alliance are based on the principles of the NATO Time dictionary (AAP-6). Here the regulation states that the codename is 2 short separate words that can be formally or informally attributed by the applicable authorities to determine, among others, events, activities, places or equipment to facilitate the transmission of information about them.
NATO exercises in accordance with the rules must be defined by two-word names related to the leadership leading them and the intent of the project. This means that each command has its own definite word, which means its maneuvers. specified a word must not be subject to any change. However, since Natowski's code name must be 2 words, there is simply a certain freedom in the choice of the second word. And for example, all the exercises that have the word “Steadfast” in their name are maneuvers led by the Chief office of the Alliance Armed Forces in Europe (SHAPE). Exercises under the code name "Brilliant" is an initiative of the Joint Forces Command in Brunssum (JFCBS), and "Noble" is the Command of the Joint Alliance Forces in Naples (JFCNP). It is akin to exercises led by NATO Corps and Division Command.
The first letter of the second word in the name of NATO maneuvers indicates the domain of conduct of operations or functional area. The exercises are combined with multi-domains and multi-functionals and consequently the second word begins with J (with the word Joint, connected), e.g. "Noble Jump 2023", during which the Army of the Very advanced Prepared NATO consequence Force (VJTF) trained. And if form leads the exercises at sea, they could be called Steadfast Monkey, due to the fact that the word indicating exercises in this domain should start with the letter M (with the word Maritime, from the sea).
As you can see, the skillful eye from military code names will read more than 1 could possibly imagine. And the message they carry is frequently addressed to a circumstantial group of observers, specified as the Polish “Iron Gate”.
