In fresh days, a increasing social unrest towards migration policy has been seen throughout Poland. The “Polish Newspapers” clubs both in large cities and in local communities actively participated in demonstrations and referendums, powerfully opposed to the forced settlement of illegal migrants.
HEADS| “Gazeta Polska” Club in Głogów initiated and actively supported the “Safe Globes” Committee's referendum initiative on illegal immigration. As many as 8846 signatures were collected to support the referendum against the settlement of illegal immigrants in the Głogów County, well above the required minimum (6570). On 2 July, a formal application was submitted to the Regional Old Town in Głogów, and now the case was discussed by the territory Council, which will set the deadline for the referendum. Thanks to the engagement of the “Polish Gazeta” Club in Głogów, local social organizations and media, the initiative gained broad support. “This is our common success – the inhabitants, socialists and all those who are fighting for a safe future”, the organizers stressed. The club expressed gratitude to tv Republic for making the case public and announced active participation in the referendum campaign.
OLD At Magistrate Square in Wałbrzych there was a demonstration entitled “In the defence of Democracy”. Crowds of residents with white and red flags and banners expressed their position in defence of the fundamental constitutional values and opposition to illegal immigration. The demonstration was attended by many “Gazeta Polska” clubs Wałbrzych, Dzierżoniów II, Kłodzko, Lądek-Zdrój, as well as activists of the Border Defence Movement. Manifestation on the initiative of erstwhile anti-communist oppositionist Jerzy Langer organized the Wałbrzych Border Defence Movement.
SUPPLIES| besides in Słupsk, the local club “Gazeta Polska” continues to operate and organized a manifestation “NO for mass immigration”. The participants in the march expressed their opposition to mass immigration. Councillor of the Municipal Council in Słupsk and president of the “Gazeta Polska” Club in Warsaw Marzen Gmińska in a conversation with the portal Niezalezna.pl stressed that “there is no question of laying down weapons.” – In just 3 hours we collected 650 signatures and even our political opponents signed on. As a club “Gazeta Polska” in cooperation with 1 of the patriotic groups, we organized a march against immigration on Sunday. And if 800 people come out on Sunday in a town like Słupsk, where usually the left and liberals win, then it means something," said Marzena Gmińska.
THE COURT OF AUDITORS | Radna of the Seymik region of Łódź and chair of Piotrków Trybunalski, the “Gazeta Polska” Club, Beata Drędź, actively engages in actions against plans to make a Center for the Integration of Foreigners and relocation of migrants in the city. Its initiatives include marches, press conferences and the organisation of a referendum collection of signatures. At the invitation of Piotrków’s club “Gazeta Polska” the city’s residents were supported by the editor-in-chief of “Gazeta Polska”, “Gazeta Polska Daily” and the president of tv Republika, Tomasz Sakiewicz. He first participated in the joint collection of signatures under the referendum initiative, and in the evening, on the same day, an open gathering with the editor took place. A gathering with the Euro MP Dominik Tarczyński besides took place in Piotrków marketplace Square. The politician warned against the effects of illegal migration. In Piotrków Trybunalski, the action to collect signatures for applications to hold a referendum there personally supported many politicians of Law and Justice (including Tobias Bocheński, Antoni Macierewicz, Anna Milchanowska, Mariusz Błaszczak).
The “Polish Newspapers” clubs throughout the country consistently build civic opposition to forced relocation of illegal immigrants. Protests, referendums, demonstrations and cooperation with local communities show that Poles want to decide about their safety and the future.
LATVIA| At the invitation of the Łódź club “Gazeta Polska” the editor, writer “Gazeta Polska” and tv Republic – Adrian Stankowski came to Łódź. The subject of the gathering was the current immigration situation and the ruling team's doubts about the presidential election. The gathering was besides attended by Łódź MPs Agnieszka Wojciechowska van Heukelon and Włodzimierz Tomaszewski.
EDENIA| At the seat of the Craft and Entrepreneurship Cech in Gdynia, at the invitation of the “Gazeta Polska” Club Wejherowo Gdynia and the MP Dorota Arciszewski-Mielewska, a gathering was held with MPs Mariusz Goski and Dariusz Matecki. Both parliamentarians appeared in front of the full hall filled by the city's residents. Topics specified as state safety and illegal migration were addressed.
NYSA| A gathering “From captivity to freedom” was held in Nysa, NSZZ “Solidarność” and the State thought Club – Nysa. The main talker was prof. Jan Majchrowski – a political scientist, lawyer, retired justice of the ultimate Court, and now a associate of the Court of State.
WARSAW| The gathering organized by the Warsaw club “Gazeta Polska” attracted many curious parties. The guests of the evening were MP Jarosław Krajewski and MP Małgorzata Wassermann. During the event, a number of crucial topics were raised concerning the current political situation, the regulation of law and State security. The gathering culminated in an open question session, during which participants had the chance to straight address parliamentarians, sharing their opinions and doubts.
BITSAt the invitation of the Euro MP Piotr Müller, the European Parliament visited Brussels. During this visit, the clubmen stood out against the another participants, and this was due to club shirts! This first thought and courage in representing the club aroused large interest. People approached, congratulated, asked about the club and praised the initiative. It is safe to say that our representatives have become the real stars of this tour, promoting the club in the heart of European politics.
PARTICULAR| At the invitation of the Euro MP Jadwiga Wiśniewska, members of the “Polish Newspapers” Club from Częstochowa visited the European Parliament in Strasbourg. The visit was an chance to learn about the work of Euro MPs and to discuss the future of Europe and Poland in the context of current challenges.
GDANSK II Gdańsk II “Gazeta” Club together with the parish of St. Michael the Archangel in Reknica organized a unique patriotic picnic. The event began with the Holy Mass for the election of Karol Nawrocki as president of Poland, asking for God's blessing in his service to his homeland. About 300 people attended the event. Andrzej Kołakowski's touching performance was completed by a spiritual message of Mass. There was besides a shared celebration – with coffee and home baking.
GLYVICE| On the National Day of Silesian Insurrections, members of the Gliwice club “Gazeta Polska” honored Wojciech Korfantem, 1 of the most crucial figures of Silesia and the past of Poland. Under the commemorative plaque, performed by the club “Gazety Polskiej” in 2009, in focus and in amazement, the memories were lit.
FAITH| Members of Poznań club “Gazeta Polska” participated in celebrations commemorating the 69th anniversary of the Poznań outbreak of June 1956. The delegation laid flowers at the monument to the Victims of June in Adam Mickiewicz Square. Society of Poznań, locals, patriotic clubs, representatives of workplaces, fans do not forget their victims and meet each year in the main places where Protestant groups set out.
CLUBSThe delegation of the “Gazeta Polskiej” Łuk Club took part in the rally and celebrations dedicated to Major Jerome Decutowski “Zapora” and his soldiers. The event was a surviving lesson in history, reminding about the sacrifice of those who gave their lives for free Poland. The invitation was sent by the Association “Freedom and Independence”, with which the “Polish Newspapers” Club has been working for years.
Representatives of the club besides participated in the first phase of the horse pilgrimage in the colours of the 7th Lublin Ulan Regiment. The way led from Suchowola to the ceremonial Baran, where a solemn Mass was celebrated in the surroundings of nature and patriotic community. The end of the day was a joint dinner at the Veterinary Treatment Centre NOVET in Kąkolewnica. Horses, companions of this unique journey were besides taken care of.
