RTV subscription rates will increase from 2026. The National Radio and tv Council has announced that the radio charge will increase by 9.2% and the tv charge by 11.7 percent, as reported by Virtual Media.
There will be increases in RTV subscription
As the KRRiT points out, the increase is of a statutory nature and is kept to the lowest possible level. At the same time, Virtual Media notes that in fresh years the rates have remained unchanged.
After the increase, the yearly fee for the radio receiver alone will amount to PLN 102.60, while for the radio and tv – PLN 329.40. Discounts were provided for those regulating the premium in advance: 10% for payments for the full year, 5% for half a year, 4% for 3 months and 3% for 2 months.
RTV subscription is simply a compulsory charge for people with radio or TV. Money for this intent goes to public media – mainly Polish tv and Polish Radio – and is allocated to the implementation of the alleged public mission, namely the production of information, educational, cultural and non-commercial content.
Everyone should pay a subscription
The fee applies to both private individuals and companies that have equipment capable of receiving the signal. Under the law, the possession of a receiver itself obliges its registration and regular payment of fees.
However, the state provides for a number of exemptions, including for seniors or people with disabilities. Although the subscription strategy regularly creates discussions and criticism, no action has been taken to change it.
