A Russian intelligence bust. Swedes already know how SWR works

Two officers of Russian abroad intelligence operating under diplomatic cover, recruited by them an agent from the embassy of another state, conspiracy meetings in the Stockholm area, providing information and ‘presents’, and in the background curious in the central Swedish decision-making process. Säpo continued to observe SWR activities for a long time, gained detailed cognition of the course of meetings, the tasks provided to the agent and the kind of information obtained, and then took action that led to the cessation of operations. The case shows at the same time that despite the improvement of cyberintelligence and another method tools, Russian services proceed to attach large importance to the classical recruitment of individual sources.
