Mandatory verification of advertisers, penalties of up to 200 percent of advertising revenue, and a compensation fund for defrauded users—these are the key proposals presented during the first substantive gathering of the Parliamentary Task Force on Combating Deceptive Advertising, online fraud, and the usage of deepfakes. At the meeting, experts from Rafał Brzoska’s initiative revealed the results of an analysis of millions of ads and exposed Russian ties to the software utilized in dangerous campaigns. The government, in turn, announced further legislative measures and the formation of a European coalition against fraud.
