A fresh partnership between the US and Vietnam. Is that a threat to China?

The United States and Vietnam have moved to a higher degree of relation to the "complementary strategical partnership", making Vietnam a strategical country in the region against the PRC. Does this mean that Vietnam will become the fresh Philippines for the United States? In this case, from a political point of view, the issue is simply a small more complicated.
