As RMF FM writer Kacper Wróblewski learned – inactive this year the parliamentary bill on depenalization of marijuana is to be sent to the Sejm. Depenalization does not mean legalizing the drug, but abolishing penalties for possession of insignificant amounts of this drug. In parliamentary clubs, discussions on this subject are already to continue, and task planners gather support among parliamentarians. The proposal for fresh regulations would appear in the Sejm in 2 months.

“The task is ready. Single, tiny things in search between coalitions and clubs may yet appear. For example, the amount of drought or bushes allowed. shortly the regulations will see the light of day" - said Marcin Józefaciuk, MP of KO, in an interview with RMF FM.

As determined by the station, the task to depenalize marijuana in Poland would go to the Sejm in September this year. At that time, all clubs and parliamentary circles are to be known.

The task is simply a joint initiative of the civilian Coalition and Poland 2050. It is to be submitted by MP Claudia Jachira (KO) and Ryszard Petru (PL2050).

Mr Józefaciuk expressed his hope that the club leadership would not discipline its MPs during the vote on this matter. "Depenalisation is simply a budget economy, due to the fact that it is simply a savings associated, among others, with judicial trials or prisons. At this point, people who have a tiny amount of drought are being punished. erstwhile this changes, judges and lawyers will be able to deal with completely different matters," he said.
