80 years ago, on 9 February 1943, a UPA branch committed a execution on the inhabitants of the village of Papała. Hołd of murdered Poles branch of the president of the Institute of National Memory, Minister of National Defence and activists of the Lublin Youth ellipse of All Poland.

The crime in Parosla was the beginning of the genocide committed by UPA in Poles in Volyn and east Małopolska. Prior to the assassination of the civilian population by the UPA branch commanded most likely by Hryhorij Perehiniak “Dowbesha-Korobka” took the old OUN activist – “Dibrowa” from the German hands. The action began at night from 7 to 8 February (or, as Grzegorz Motyka says, from 8 to 9 February) 1943. The Ukrainians came across an auxiliary police unit of Cossacks stationed in the town and seized the building, killing many of them. At the end of the operation, the first UPA sotnia withdrew from Włodzimierc, heading for the village of Pawłosta.

Dowbeszki-Korobki came to the village most likely on 9 February in the morning. Armed Ukrainians have surrounded the colony. First, in the close forest, they murdered 5 residents of the Wydymer colony, who carried wood and later terrorized residents of Parosla, entering houses, groups (mostly 4–6 people). The arming of the squad consisted of primitive weapons, like axe and axe. First, they ordered food to be prepared for themselves and ordered residents not to decision without a sentinel. After the meal, the banders informed Poles about the planned attack on the Germans to pass by and demanded that they lay down on the level and let their hands be restrained. This was motivated by the desire to “protect” the inhabitants of Parosa against the revenge of the Germans for complicity in the attack. any Poles may have found specified a translation credible, while those who did not trust "changers" could not defy them. No children were spared during the massacre. They were killed by hitting an axe in the head. It is estimated that at least 155 people were killed at the time, but there were surely more victims. According to Grzegorz Motyka, “after leaving Parosla on the way to Cepcewicz the upowie in Topty (Tuptyn) fur killed another 15 Poles.”

Fearing the return of UPA, the inhabitants of the surrounding villages who arrived in Parosa decided to bury the murdered a fewer days later. The ceremony of the victims was held on 12 February 1943. 137 people were buried in the common grave, and the bodies of the another relatives were laid in the cemetery outside of Pawła. In May 1943, a tiny hare was put to sleep on the grave and a cross was erected with a burnt-out inscription: “Here are the inhabitants of the Colony of Pawel murdered on 9 February 1943.”
