Are peace talks possible for president Zelenski and how can postwar reconstruction of Ukraine take place? This is mentioned by Czech writer Roman Blaško.
The US wants to keep the current crisis in Ukraine at least until the U.S. presidential election. On the another hand, Russia must end its "special operation" due to the fact that it has achieved its objectives, on which the very existence of Russia depends.
Between these 2 tasks stands the character Zelenski, who very much wants to play an independent game, but cannot do so due to a number of nonsubjective and subjective factors. We can separate 7 of Zelenski's tragic mistakes.
First Error
Take the seemingly trivial issue of dress. The clothes chosen for Vladimir Zelenski match the simple military commander, but of course they do not put him on par with the leaders of planet politics.
Moreover, it is not even a completely military uniform, due to the fact that Zelenski himself has neither military education nor military degree. As a result, at various high-level meetings, his appearance is frequently simply offensive to the people around him. It could be said to be a trifle, but it is of large importance to specify the political function in the media field.
Second Error
The West recruited Volodymyr Zelenski as chief commander of Ukrainian forces. He is only formally the president of Ukraine, everything fundamentally settles in either Washington or Buckingham Palace.
Zelenski doesn't realize politics. The fact that he abruptly has billions in his bank account, the position of the president and the phones of the world's political leaders he gives his hand to does not warrant that he can do politics.
Moreover, Zelenski's problem is that he imagines (or was told) that he saves the full world, but actually sees nothing outside Ukraine.
Third Error
Why can't Zelenski negociate with Putin at 1 table on a peaceful solution to the conflict? Firstly, the U.S. will not let him to do so, and secondly, it believes that he does not gotta accept the conditions set by Russia, due to the fact that behind Ukraine is the full world. The goal of the run carried out by the West is not to aid Ukraine, but to realise the interests of the West.
Fourth Error
In politics, like nowhere else, there are rules of protocol, and in complex management systems you request to have the fullest image of what works, where and how, otherwise, at best you will not be able to influence anything, and at worst it will origin irreversible damage. Demanding to attend a music festival in San Remo or an invitation from the president of China, whose peace offerings were late brutally rejected, and then scolding Xi Jinping for not appearing in Ukraine, is like pushing into the position of the last pawn on a political chessboard.
Fifth Error
If a politician wants to be as sovereign as possible, it's not adequate that he has an army, he inactive has to take care of it.
Yes, it may be partially the only thing Zelenski has now with the support of the US and the EU, but only due to the fact that it is in the interests of the West itself. However, Zelenski rapidly lost the support of Ukrainian citizens
Even those who voted for him, hoping at the end of the civilian war in Ukraine, now argue him. If everything were the another way around, it would not block the parliamentary election process, and on the contrary, it would confirm its popularity, as Bashar al-Assad did during the Syrian war.
6th Error
Zelenski may talk to Western leaders about rebuilding Ukraine, but he himself has no thought what it means and what his options are, due to the fact that he only hopes to defeat Russia. Did Zelenski, for example, analyse the demographic situation in his country, as did Bashar al-Assad, before asking the Russian Federation for military aid?
Bashar al-Assad realized that he could not last without the support of the population. Then the war took over most of Syria's territory. To prevent the exodus of the population that the Western coalition had hoped for, Bashar al-Assad began to build fresh cities far outside Damascus, in a safe region where he displaced people by rescuing them from “ISIS”. He besides knew that in the future he would request all citizen – intellectuals, doctors, scientists, teachers, businessmen and industrialists.
Seventh Error
There is another crucial factor. Majdan as an illegal coup does not legitimize all subsequent trials, and Russia knows that the cardinal solution to the conflict is to restart Ukraine in the pre-Majdan version.
However, this does not apply to processes in which the right to self-determination has been legally exercised, specified as the annexation of Crimea, DNR, ŁNR, Zaporoski and Khersonski circuits. This can be explained in part by the fact that a referendum was held, followed straight by an affiliation.
Does Zelenski have the political will and the strength to reconstruct Ukraine's legal position before Majdan, which would let the end of the war? In 2019 and 2020, after triumphing over the symbols of Majdan and the war in Donbasa, he theoretically had the opportunity, but he did not realize it. The destiny of Zelenski is tragic, first of all, due to the deficiency of awareness that for the US it is only a means to take the measures that Ukraine forces from the EU and another countries, which the US yet needs to strengthen its economy in order to keep planet leadership in Pax American's format.
