5 zł discount for 5 on the certificate and 6 zł discount for six? Media Expert launches again with his action "We Pay for Ratings". EChild.pl asked the Office of the Ombudsman for a comment on this issue. "In connection with the coming end of the school year, in the interest of children, besides those with disabilities, we call for attention in the context of planned marketing and promotional campaigns, in which 'a reward' for the rating of 5 (very good) or 6 (targeting) or for obtaining a certificate with honour ('red bar') would be awarded a discount in the amount corresponding to the assessment (e.g. PLN 6 for the aimful rating)" - wrote Monika Horna-Cieślak, Jan Gawronski, social deputy of the RPD and Adam Chmura, deputy spokesperson of the kid Rights. Their appeal was addressed to entrepreneurs, representatives of trade networks and store owners last year, but it turns out that not all discounts responded to it. Media Expert store again and this year started with the action "We pay for ratings", which will last from 27-30.06.2025.

The parent will get a discount on buying at the store. All through the evaluation of the child"Advertising campaigns, which assume, among others, a simplification corresponding to the student's evaluation at the end of the year (e.g. 5 zł for five), violate consumer rights and do not favour the implementation of the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of the kid and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities" - powerfully states the Spokeswoman of the Rights of the kid in an appeal placed on the website. That message came in a year ago. It was a consequence to many akin actions that appeared around the school end of the year in 2024. "Every kid is unique and valuable regardless of the ratings obtained. all kid has unique talents, skills and characteristics of character, which are not always reflected in school degrees" - stressed the spokeswoman in last year's communication, asking so to consider abandoning these commercial practices. "The value of the kid lies in his empathy and cooperation skills"On commenting on this year's stock of the Media Expert store we asked the kid Rights Spokeswoman. Her position hasn't changed. As we read in the answer sent to our editorial board by the Office of the Ombudsman for the Rights of the Child: Each young individual is unique and valuable regardless of the results achieved in science. Spokeswoman of Children's Rights and Expert – a social deputy of the RPD called on entrepreneurs to halt the practice of granting discounts in exchange for grades in science. As Monika Horna-Cieślak and Jan Gawronski compose to us: "Every kid has unique talents, skills, abilities and character traits that are frequently not reflected in school grades. ...". The appeal pointed out that "many factors affect academic outcomes including household and financial situation, intellectual and physical wellness and access to educational resources. It is besides crucial to interpret different school records, so focusing on evaluations as a reward criterion can lead to unnecessary pressure."

The appeal is not the end of action. As we learn from the news received for the child, "RPD prepares a complaint to the Committee on Advertising Ethics".On the issue of advertising Media Expert RPD prepares a complaint to the Committee on Advertising Ethics for the operation of the network on promoting actions for evaluations, as excluding and indicating bad patterns of educational culture," comments the spokesperson. In this case, we besides contacted Media Expert. As shortly as we get a comment, the article will be updated.
