"Technics in the fight against poverty" will be celebrated on 4 March, this year's planet Day of Engineers for Sustainable Development, which has been promoting technological improvement in over 100 countries for six years. The NOT Federation of technological and method Associations combined this unique vacation with the celebrations of the 31st edition of the method Review plebiscite (year of foundation 1866) with the title of Golden Engineer.
For the first time in 3 decades, a gala dedicated to honouring outstanding Polish engineers with an honorary title – Diamond, Gold and Silver Engineer will not be held in the Warsaw home of Technology, only in the hall of method University of Lodz. In the 31st edition of the plebiscite, the title of Honorary Golden Engineer will be traditionally awarded to persons who, having a diploma of engineer or technician, have had awesome successes in another fields.
The presentation of the statuettes to the winners of this plebiscite will be preceded by a lecture by Prof. Krzysztof Jóżwik, Rector of Łódź University of Technology, president of the Conference of Rectors of Polish method Universities (KRPUT), speech by Ewa Mańkiewicz-Cudny, president of FSNT-NOT and 3 presentations referring to the slogan of the planet Engineer Day.
The subject of the presentation by Dr. Jacek Kucharki, prof. of University, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer discipline and Automation at the University of Lodz will be “New technologies in the fight against poverty”, while Prof. Dr. Marian Gorynia, president of the Polish economical Society “The economy of moderation as a manifestation of civilizational solstice”.
In his speech "Sustainable improvement – A Technology to Fight Poverty", Vice-President of the Council of Ministers (2000-2001) and Minister of Economy (1997-2001) Janusz Steinhoff will address not only method issues, but besides the socio-economic consequences of poverty.
Among the most crucial ways to reduce poorness is to accelerate economical growth and the corresponding incomes of the population. It is crucial that the state eliminates the risks leading to social exclusion. economical and social policies should support each other. The current macroeconomic framework frequently undermines the implementation of social rights and the implementation of sustainable improvement principles and so requires a rational approach utilizing modern solutions. How technology can aid this will be spoken on 4 March by experts during planet Engineer Day.
With the initiative to set up a 4 March vacation to item the function of technology developers and the importance of their work for society, global organizations at the WEC (World Engineers Convention) legislature in Melbourne in November 2019. Since the beginning of 2020, the Federation of technological and method Associations -NOT has actively included in its celebration in cooperation with KRPUT and the Academy of Engineering in Poland.
In popularising this crucial vacation under the patronage of the Federation, more and more method environments are involved, including Polish universities, which prepare a rich programme of celebrations of planet Engineer Day. (JC)
