Krzysztof Teodorowicz, the manager of the unique Łódź cinema – Charlie, we are talking about the 20th Millennium Docs Against Gravity, the popularity of documentary films and the upcoming attractions in Charlie.
Małgorzata Jankowska: The MDAG Festival came to Łódź for the second time, but for the first time we will watch festival films in Charlie cinema. How did this happen?
Krzysztof Teodorovich: A fewer months ago, the artistic manager of the Millennium Docs Against Gravity festival, Karol Piekarczyk, came to us with a proposal to organize the Łódź edition in an extended formula, containing all the most crucial films of the festival, and we very much accepted this proposal.
How many films will we see in Łódź and what ones? Who selected the repertoire?
A full of 16 films will be shown from 12 to 21 May. Millennium Docs Against Gravity itself proposed a repertoire, while we together decided on a detailed programme of days and hours.
Are there going to be accompanying events?
On the day of the screening of the movie “Vika!”, telling about the charismatic 84-year-old DJ, the star of Warsaw clubs and the individual denying the thesis that age is simply a biological issue, there will be an accompanying event of the festival.
The screening will be followed by a gathering with movie manager Agnieszka Zwiefka and the film's protagonist herself. After the gathering Vika will present a set of DJ-ski in the cinema!

Are the boaters buying tickets to the 20th MDAG yet? How do you view your interest in the event?
Millennium Docs Against Gravity enjoys large interest, boaters are already buying tickets and passes – a peculiar price entry for the selected 5 films of the festival.
There are titles or titles you would peculiarly like to recommend, and why?
Of course, all films are recommended, especially the Academy Award nominees “All is beauty and blood”, a movie about an outstanding photographer and LGBT+ rights activist Nan Goldin.
The manager Laura Poitras shows the life and creativity of the artist, who presently devotes all her energy to her established PAIN (Prescription Addition Intervention Now), defending people addicted to painkillers and fighting against producers of these drugs.

Another interesting title is “And the king said, What a fantastic machine!”, that is, a witty and thought-provoking movie that tracks the improvement of the image culture and will be seen in it you can make camies obscury, the first shows of moving images, and besides visit tonight's Hollywood.

Do documentary films in Poland enjoy the sympathy of viewers? The interest in them is growing, or is it decreasing, for example, in the last 10-15 years? How do you feel about that?
