The Military Medical Institute with the Central Clinical infirmary of the Ministry of National Defence was created on 27 November 2002 by a decree of the Minister of National Defence. It was an component of the reorganization of higher military education based on the Central Clinical infirmary of the Military Medical Academy. On 27 January, celebrations were held on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Military Medical Institute – the State investigation Institute with the participation of president Andrzej Duda and Minister of Defence, Deputy Prime Minister Mariusz Błaszczak.
