Day 785

Today quite a few information came out from the direction of Avdijiwa

Here the Russians crossed the fields behind Awdijiwaka and effort to cross the Durna River and break through another Ukrainian defence line

As you remember from the erstwhile report, after the Russians took control of the settlements in the fields, they tried to cross the river in as many places as possible
Most of these crossings are located around the Ukrainian Semenivka settlement
This makes Semenivka a natural mark for Russian forces
Both Ukrainian and Russian soldiers in the area claim that the Russians are actively trying to break Ukrainian defence and establish a foothold in the settlement.

Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrski late stated that Ukrainian forces had made a complete rotation of their elements, which had fought for more than 2 years towards Awdijiwa.
This allows Ukrainian formations to regenerate forces and recover losses so that they can be ready to fight the next day.
In turn the recently arrived Ukrainian brigades are well rested and ready to defend against Russian attacks.

Russian military blogger claims that Russian forces are attempting to take control of Ukrainian communication lines in Semenivka.
This is not amazing due to the fact that Ukrainian defence behind the river is supported by a good network of roads, which importantly improves Ukrainian logistics
This enables not only easier transport of ammunition, wounded and reinforcements to the front and back, but besides makes counterattacks easier and more effective for Ukrainian defenders.
However, the Russians stay severely restricted in their attack axes, as they are limited by appropriate crossings across the river.

In preparation for the attack, the Russians focus their forces in the recently occupied Orlivka settlement.

To prevent this accumulation of forces, Ukrainians usage 2 different tactics
Firstly, drone operators usage FPV drones, along with artillery crews, to monitor and destruct observed Russian movements and positions in the settlement.
Ukrainians have published respective geolocated combat films showing specified attacks on Russian infantry, vehicles, and hideouts.

Secondly, Ukrainians conduct amazing counterattacks on the settlement, setting ambushes on a Russian infantry that believes is exclusively in the offensive.
A well-known 3rd assault brigade published geo-localized combat recordings showing how rapidly they prepared and conducted specified an attack
As a result, they destroyed the Russian position and managed to retreat to a safe place before another Russian forces could react.

Despite these efforts, a Ukrainian officer operating in the area stated that Russian forces seem to be able to at least partially replace and strengthen these lost troops.
The Russians most likely usage old chemical plants in Awdijiwka as a transit point from which they can rapidly strengthen their positions closer to the front line.
Chemical plants in Awdijiwka gave Ukrainians a crucial defensive advantage during the conflict of Awdijiwka.
Robust industrial plan and many rooms and cellars supply excellent shielding against artillery fire and drones.
The Russians seemingly usage these features in the same way as an advanced operational base for their offensive operations in the north and east.

Ukrainian soldiers operating in the area stated that the Russians were actively shelling their positions with 120-millimeter mortar missiles as part of preparations for the Russian attack

At the same time, the Russians besides concentrated adequate forces in Orlivka to carry out respective attacks across the river.
Russian military bloggers say these attacks have been successful
They claim that Russian forces have strengthened positions on the western bank of the river and entered the first Semenivka buildings from the south.
Other Russian military bloggers were more skeptical and stated that while the Russians entered Semenivka, Ukrainians were actively conducting counterattacks to their positions.

However, Ukrainian forces later published geo-localized combat recordings from many waves of Russian attacks
The first wave consisted of 6 armored vehicles and many infantry.
Russian armored forces first drove through the fields and crossing as rapidly as possible, trying to avoid Ukrainian artillery fire.
This failed 2 of them due to the fact that the Ukrainians destroyed 1 artillery-fired vehicle and the another disabled it with a drone.
