19. prof. Tadeusz Świętochowski's Young Scientists Conference was held on 22 May 2024 in the Column Hall of the Faculty of past of the University of Warsaw. The conference was organized by the Seminar of the Caucasian Studies of east Europe at the University of Warsaw.
The conference was opened by the manager of the east European Studies at the University of Warsaw Jan Malicki and the Head of the Specialization of the Caucasian east European Studies at the University of Warsaw Dr David Kolbaia.
During the conference 4 panel sessions were held with invited specialists, PhD students and students dealing with Caucasian subjects.
At the same time with the conference, an exhibition devoted to the 100th anniversary of the anti-Soviet national uprising in Georgia in 1924 was presented** entitled “... My real name is Valerian Tevzadze” (authored by David Kolbaia).
The conference was an chance to exchange cognition and experience between young scientists dealing with Caucasian topics. The conference participants besides had the chance to learn about the latest investigation and publications in the field of caucasology.

The aim of the conference is to bring the participants of contemporary problems in the Caucasus countries, to support students, PhD students and graduates in investigation work related to the region, and to aid integrate the technological environment of caucasologists. A presentation of the technological achievements of students, both those who have completed their investigation work and those who are in the process of preparing master's thesis in the framework of the Caucasian specialization. This year's conference will cover social and cultural aspects of transformation in the countries of the Caucasus, issues of territorial conflicts leading to the creation of fragile zones in the Caucasus, relations between the European Union and the United States with the countries of the Caucasus.
In February 2017, prof. Tadeusz Świętochowski, a prominent specialist in caucasian affairs, retired prof. of Columbia University and long-term guest lecturer of the survey of east Europe died. Since 2017 the conference is called the Caucasus Session for Young Scientists named after Tadeusz Świętochowski.
