President Donald Trump's proposal to restrict his right to citizenship from birth is simply a "failingly unlawful effort to deprive hundreds of thousands of children born in America of citizenship based on their origin," said 18 states' lawyers, the city of San Francisco and the territory of Colombia in a suit challenging the President's executive order signed just hours after his swearing in on Monday.

In the lawsuit, they accused Trump of seeking to destruct the “established and long-term constitutional principle”.

Donald Trump ordered national agencies — starting next period — to cease issuing citizenship papers to US-born children of undocumented mothers or mothers residing in the country on the basis of temporary visas, if the father is not a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident.

According to the lawsuit, around 150 000 children born each year by 2 parents who were not citizens and had no legal position may lose access to primary wellness care, foster care and early intervention for infants, young children and disabled students.

“They will all be deported and many of them will become stateless,” says the lawsuit.

The States warned that the Implementing Regulation would besides consequence in the failure of national backing for programmes that supply services to children regardless of their immigration status.

Although Trump's decree aims to unilaterally abolish the right to citizenship from birth, only the United States ultimate Court can find how the 14th Amendment to the American Constitution applies, states ABC News.
