Film roads to freedom at the 15th NNW Festival in Gdynia - 15th NNW global movie Festival from 27 to 30 September in Gdynia.

"Free Poland in the Free World" is the strong motto of the 15th global movie Festival of the NNW, which will be held in Gdynia on 27-30 September 2023. In the program, nearly 250 screenings of films and events, telling about the attitudes of the insubordinate, about people for whom the ultimate value is freedom – both the 1 understood in a broad context as independency of nations and the 1 speaking about the freedom of average man. ‘This year the festival motto, which is the message of Janusz Krupski, is highly clear and clear, that there will be no free Poland without the free countries of the erstwhile ZSRS. This is the key to choosing the films and themes of this year's Festival, doing so so that it is understandable besides for the generation born after 1989" – says NNW Festival manager Arkadiusz Gołębiewski.

On September 27th, filmmakers, peculiar guests and viewers will come to Gdynia, for whom tradition, history, memory of heroes are important, but above all – freedom. ‘Thanks to the NNW Festival, anyone can share their experiences from a bumpy road to freedom. In the fervor of systemic transformation in the countries of Central and east Europe this subject was neglected. Our festival makes us feel 1 community in the face of war. For years, 2 totalitarianisms have shown paintings from Estonia, the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Hungary at our festival. For we are a place where a voice claiming freedom becomes heard. All the more satisfaction that it flows from Poland, reinforced by voices of our fellow filmmakers" “The manager of the NNW festival says: “The problem of the fight against persecution is present worldwide, even creators from countries specified as Taiwan, Korea or Japan come to Gdynia with their themes".

The viewers of the NNW Festival this year can number on the presence of many filmmakers from abroad, and witnesses of past will besides come - the characters of the films who will be honored with Signs of independency and Doors to Freedom. In the jury of the 15th NNW Festival, among others, American maker of historical films John Grooters, US actor Marek Probosz, recognized Ukrainian manager Mykahailo Illientko, nipponese manager Ken Takahashi - creator of over 1 100 films and visionary of modern nipponese historical cinema, documentaryists Paweł Woldan and Anna Ferens. The state of Boris in Gdynia will celebrate the 50th anniversary of "The Jaskółka jailed", with the performance performed by world-famous pianist Adam Makowicz, and musicians from countries neighbouring Russia, together with Marek Piekarczyk, will execute an anti-war protest-song. ‘The festival shows that a common past connects alternatively than divides. The danger of being, a nation, unites the environment of creators, but besides viewers" – says Gołębiewski.

Important topics, broadening the discussion and complementing this year's NNW festival include:

- the wartime destiny of women and their function in the fight for freedom, both in the debate and in the films;

- The function of Polonia in the fight for Poland's freedom – a large representation of political emigration will be presented at the festival, among others, the traveller Jerzy Majcherczyk will talk about winning the deepest canyon of the planet Colca and Peruvian manifestations supporting Solidarity. another explorers specified as Marek Kamiński will appear next to him;

- in an global group we will consider how to tell the planet about totalitarianism.

What can be of peculiar interest to the contemporary viewer is besides a subject for me as a close creator, that is, inheriting post-war trauma and discovering silenced household history. This is simply a worldwide phenomenon. We will see on the festival screen what the generation struggling with post-war trauma has to say, increasing in countries affected by totalitarianism. There will be themes not told or mourned. erstwhile we talk about history, we actually look in the mirror of modernity." – says Arkadiusz Gołębiewski and adds – "The NNW is the Unbreakable, but most importantly – the Free".
