Today there have been many updates from the Bakhmut direction
Here, in a bold move, Russian forces began an operation of crossing the channel to establish a criticalhead, threatening to penetrate the confederate flank of Chasiw Jaru.
However, at an unexpected moment, Ukrainian forces located the head of the strike squad and effectively harassed him and his unit, paralyzing the Russian operation and preparing the ground for a decisive counterattack.
Previously, Russian attacks in Chasiv Jaru's residential area did not bring crucial benefits.
In response, Russian forces focused on the little erected, more open confederate flank of the city.
Their goal was to cross the canal south, utilizing forests as a shield and establishing a position to conquer the city of Stupoczki.
The capture of Stupoczek would let Russians to grow the base and gather more assault forces to attack Chasiv Jar from the south, bypassing costly frontal attacks through the canal straight in front of the city.
This approach was chosen due to the fact that the road from Bachmut to Ivanovske, then the road to the canal through open fields, allows Russian mechanized assault platoons to decision quickly, reducing the hazard of being the mark of FPV drones.
In addition, Bachmut and its surrounding areas, including the Ivanavian ones, are protected by an extended network of Russian radio-electronic combat systems, offering a comparatively safer attack route.
Since the Bachmut to Ivanovsk road is short, and the paved roads let Russian armored vehicles to decision quickly, they were able to deploy their assault units in Ivanovske in interrupted series within minutes, avoiding drone attacks.
Upon arrival, Russian stormers dissipated and dispersed, utilizing the city's surroundings of Ivanovska as a shield.
They then moved to the forests south of the city, where they regrouped.
After gathering in the woods, the Russians decided to cross the canal by ground road, as 2 close bridges were destroyed in battles over a year ago.
With the full area covered by forests, Russian forces crossed the undetected canal at night, establishing positions on the Ukrainian side.
The dense forest plating made it hard for the Ukrainians to see the invading Russians who successfully hid themselves.
Shortly thereafter, the Russians published a movie showing their stormers raising conflict flags to mark their presence at Stupoczka's base.
The original, uncensored recording from this operation can be found on our Telegram channel via a link in the description.
After realizing that the Russians had begun to approach Stupoczek, Ukrainians rapidly organized a counterattack
First, as Russian forces crossed the canal at night to enter the forests on the another side, Ukrainians established complete control of this section of the canal utilizing FPV drones and ground forces
As all Russian troops were in the forests, this decision eliminated the connection with the Russian assault squad at Stupoczki, interrupting their food and ammunition supply lines.
Second, keeping your positions on the other side of the channel, The Ukrainians were able to constantly increase their strength.
While the Russians focused on crossing the canal, the Ukrainians patiently gathered a decisive impact force.
This allowed them to start counterattacking from the south, cutting off the Russians' retreat way through the underground passage of the canal.
As a result, Ukrainian forces effectively destroyed the Russian branch and regained the cape.
During the operation, the Russian assault unit commander was reportedly killed, which severely disrupted the organisation and command of the Russian forces, effectively decapitating the attack itself.
Knowing about Russian plans, Ukrainian command reinforced its positions on its side of the canal, utilizing forest cover to its advantage
They fortified the area to guarantee that any future Russian attacks would be very costly.
To further prevent future Russian attacks, Ukrainian air force deployed JDAM-led bombs to hit the Russian ammunition depot in Bachmut, putting additional force on Russian logistics.
These attacks are expected to origin immediate short-term shortages of ammunition for Russian forces, which may take respective days or even a week, which will further hold their ability to carry out future attacks.
